FAST AND GUARANTEED PAYMENT OF YOUR INVOICES

Being an in-network provider means that you have a direct payment and/or discount agreement with Cigna. Treatment of a plan member whose eligibility is confirmed grants you seamless payment of your invoices. Accepted invoices are reimbursed within 30 days following their receipt!

FREE VISIBILITY

On their personal webpages our plan members can look up doctors and hospitals by location as well as medical specialty and name. The results show at a glance which providers offer direct payment and/or discounts. This constantly growing and monitored list is a unique collection of the world's most appreciated health care providers. Once you have entered the Cigna provider network, your contact details will be visible to more than 1 million plan members.

2. GUIDELINES

2.1 VERIFY MEMBERSHIP, ELIGIBILITY AND COVERAGE

MEMBERSHIP CARD

An individual Cigna membership card is issued to all plan members. It provides you with a wealth of information about the plan member, his/her benefits and our contact details.

The most important piece of information contained on the card is the Cigna reference number. This number uniquely identifies the plan member. For a smooth handling of your enquiries, make sure you mention this number in all correspondence with us.

ELIGIBILITY AND COVERAGE

You can check the eligibility and benefit of your Cigna patients by logging in to Cigna Envoy. For urgent matters, please call us.

2.2 SEAMLESS PAYMENT OF YOUR INVOICES

Welcome to Cigna Envoy for Providers!

You can relax when admitting patients covered by a Cigna plan. Depending on the type of treatment and on its costs, we have set up various hassle-free payment procedures. Find out which procedure applies to the type of care you give and what steps you need to take for a smooth payment of your invoices:

INPATIENT TREATMENT OR EMERGENCY?

DIRECT PAYMENT BASED ON GUARANTEE OF PAYMENT

Whether you are part of our provider network or not, all you have to do is contact us.

  • Two to four weeks before admission or upon admission in case of emergency, provide us with the following information:
    • description of the treatment (diagnose, procedure, etc);
    • cost estimate.
  • We will send a Guarantee of payment to both you and the patient.
  • Send us the invoice and the discharge report as well as your bank account details. We will settle the invoice within 30 days of receipt and send you a settlement note.
  • Collect from the patient his patient portion of the expenses and his personal expenses, if any.
MAJOR OUTPATIENT TREATMENT (>200 USD/EUR)?

DIRECT PAYMENT BASED ON GUARANTEE OF PAYMENT

MINOR OUTPATIENT TREATMENT (<200 USD/EUR)?

CASH PAY OR DIRECT PAYMENT

Direct payment based on card:

  • For plan members covered on Cigna Envoy.
  • For plan members with an outpatient percentage (OP%) on their membership card.

Cash pay:

  • For plan members covered on Cigna Envoy.
  • For plan members with an outpatient percentage (OP%) on their membership card.

2.3 UPDATE YOUR DATA

Through our online Provider search, plan members have access to a wide range of information on in-network health care providers. They can search by name, specialty or location.

If you are already part of our network, you may wish to update the information displayed on our Provider search at some point: new contact person, additional specialty, etc. To request an update, email us the full details of the requested changes or return the completed Health care provider information form.
